REVIEW OF HAPPY HOMESTEADERS BY BRIAN SPECK

Happy Homesteaders

Book 2 of the Chronicles of Zee series

by Brian SpeckHis status changed from being a hobo to a settler... And this was made possible by his hobo companion.

His name is Zee, or Zephaniah the Righteous as he is later called. After a few months of being a wanderer, and a destitute, barely surviving every arduous day by scavenging food from trash cans and catching fishes which he loved eating, Zee finally finds himself among this group of people who call themselves The Lost Tribe of Israel. Zee just wants a place he can call home and that is what the happy homesteaders have given him but most of the people are not as welcoming as he thinks or wants them to be to him.

Events are not quite going the way he expects as he begins to discover a bunch of uncanny and creepy things about the secluded settlers... To top it off, there is a mystery to solve as he keeps coming in contact with the supernatural.

Zee is confused. "Should I go back to my legally married wife or should I stay amongst the settlers even though they are not so welcoming but have given me food and shelter?"

Eager to please, he changes his name from Zee to Zechariah the Righteous but it doesn't change anything, he still finds himself struggling with the old characters and addiction that he had with his old name. Who is he kidding? Did he think that changing his name will change what is inside?

So what to do? What to do?

As I read the Happy Homesteaders by Brian Spec, each chapter left me wanting to find out what happened next. The book was suspenseful... There were so many questions and most of them were eventually answered in subsequent chapters, the rest, I believe, will be uncovered in the third book of the series.

I absolutely liked it. I received a copy from the author, I choose to review it here... All the words are mine.

There are four books in this series, Happy Homesteaders is the second... If you are impressed with this review, then you might want to check out the first book in the series Thirteen Days in Salem County, to give you a better understanding of how the story of Zee started.

About the author.

Brian currently lives on a small farm in Alabama with his wife and seven children. He has a Bachelor of Science in psychology and had spent much time employed as a stone mason. From an early age, he maintained a keen awareness of the supernatural and has spent his lifetime investigating its truths logically, scientifically, and personally, attempting to understand the reality of the unseen and to what degree it influences the mind of mankind. Is God real? What about angels and demons? Does anything otherworldly influence our thoughts and circumstances or are we all running on a proverbial hamster wheel at the mercy of the whims of chance until we die and stay dead forever?

Drawing from the experiences of others as well as his own experiences and imaginations, in The Chronicles of Zee series, Brian writes a raw, honest, and sometimes painful story about the nature of man as it struggles to come to terms with an all too elusive Ever After.
